Jon Gooch, better known as Feed Me, will no longer be gracing us with his presence on the decks after the summer, at least for some time. He took to twitter to explain his reason behind his hiatus.
Alex Metric jumpstarted his career in 2008 after being named “Best Breakthrough Producer” by Breakspoll; now, 5 years later, he’s still impressing his listeners with his third installation of Ammunition. Unlike parts 1 and 2, part 3 is made up entirely of four Metric originals. He definitely stays true to his electro background in this 22 minute EP. Starting out with some good ol’ bass in his first track, a collaboration with Mark Yardly called “Ilium,” it quickly grabs your attention. After slowing things down with “Scandalism,” he quickly picks up the pace with “Want Ya” which builds the whole thing up perfectly to end it with “Rave Weapon 2.” This EP is definitely a break away from the mainstream songs we’ve all gotten used to, and I for one I’m happy for the breath of fresh air. There’s no doubt in my mind that, with the help of OWSLA, we’ll be hearing a lot more of Alex Metric for the years to come.
